What is health coaching?
Health coaching is a collaborative process that helps you build sustainable habits around food, cooking, movement, rest, and lifestyle. Rather than prescribing a one-size-fits-all plan, we’ll work together to identify practical steps that fit your life and goals.
Health coaching is educational and supportive. It is not medical care or nutrition therapy.
What makes Dwelling & Dish different?
Dwelling & Dish combines evidence-informed health coaching, practical culinary coaching, and a faith-informed perspective to help you cultivate lasting habits that nourish your body, home, and spirit.
My goal isn’t simply to help you eat differently; it’s to help you enjoy cooking, gather around the table, and build rhythms that support long-term health.
Do I have to eat a completely plant-based diet?
No.
While my teaching emphasizes the benefits of whole, minimally processed plant foods, coaching is personalized. I meet you where you are and help you make realistic, sustainable changes.
I have food allergies or dietary restrictions. Can I still participate?
Absolutely. Many of my recipes and coaching strategies can be adapted for common allergies and dietary needs. Please let me know about any allergies or medical dietary restrictions before we begin.
Is coaching done online?
Yes. Coaching sessions are held virtually using Zoom unless otherwise noted.
How long are coaching sessions?
Individual coaching sessions are generally 60 minutes.
Group coaching sessions are typically 90 minutes.
Will I receive recipes and meal ideas?
Yes! Depending on your program, you’ll receive recipes, culinary coaching, and practical kitchen strategies designed to help you confidently prepare nourishing meals.
Is this a weight-loss program?
The focus of Dwelling & Dish is whole-person health. While some participants may experience weight changes, our primary goals are improved health, sustainable habits, confidence in the kitchen, and a healthier relationship with food.
Can I use my HSA or insurance?
Dwelling & Dish does not bill insurance. Some Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) may reimburse health coaching expenses depending on your plan. Please check with your provider.
How do I know if this program is right for me?
I’d love to meet you! Schedule a complimentary discovery call so we can discuss your goals and determine whether coaching is a good fit.
